Woven vs. Silk
I've been talking with some friends lately about buying ties online. Some have expressed to me the fact that just about every online Web site claims to have "100% silk ties" or "the highest quality ties." When you aren't in the showroom and able to feel the tie, how can you select from the seemingly wide array of high quality ties?
I'll answer in a series of blog posts. One of the easiest ways to determine the quality of the tie from the get-go is if it is woven. A woven tie usually has more depth and texture in the pattern of the tie. This is unlike a printed silk tie which is one continuous fabric. If you are buying a tie online, look for a woven tie.

You'll notice all of the product pictures on wearjack.com feature a super hi-resolution image-- like this one here from The Senator. This is so that shoppers can see the intricate detail of our woven ties. Many of our ties have patterns woven into the stripe that are just dynomite.
